The president for Alliance for Good Governance a popular pressure group in Ghana is calling on President Akufo Addo to make known to Ghanaians his stance on the legalization of both homosexual and lesbianism. His call comes after the British Prime Minister Mrs Theresa May made it known to Commonwealth member states UK readiness to give support to any member country who is ready to amend its laws in other to accommodate gays and lesbians. She made this known during the 25th Commonwealth meeting yesterday.
According to Mr Samuel Qwesi Ofori known as Sir John the statement was uncalculated and need to be retreated by the United Kingdom Prime Minister Mrs Theresa May.
In the other hand is also appealing to President Akufo Addo to come boldly and declare his stance on these whole brouhaha.
Not too long ago President Akufo Addo was backlashed over his comments about the legalization of both homosexual and lesbianism in Ghana during an interview with United Kingdom based Television Aljaazera. The comments of the president seems didn't go down well with some Ghanaians especially the opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) and it sparked a whole lot of controversies.
In the interview President Akufo Addo was heard saying Legalizing both homosexual and lesbianism is something that is bound to happen should any advocacy group arise and raise concerns about it.
Ever since the British PM Mrs Theresa May made that statement presidency seems to silent over it and this posture has triggered President of Alliance for Good Governance Mr Samuel Qwesi Ofori known as Sir John to call on The Presidency to as quickly as possible to issue an official statement to declare the stance of government to Ghanaians in other to quench the fear, panic and heated argument that the PM's statement has brought to the public discourse.
'I think the government has to make it known to Ghanaians its decision on this particular statement, because pardon me I see the PM's statement as a loosed words'.And they shouldn't think they can just buy our sovereignty and tarnish the image our culture'.he said this in an interview with France based Newbis radio.
