38-year-old young man Segeant Daniel Abotsi, a police officer with Konongo Police Division in the Ashanti Region has been today reported killed in calamitous vehicular accident with his daughter, Juliana Abotsi Ayele, 12-year-old on their way from Accra towards Kumasi.
According to report, Sageant Daniel Abotsi was driving his Opel Astra vehicle with registration number GT-1742-12 where they met their untimely death as the car veered of its lane, converged with a Metro Mass Transit bus at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Eastern Region Police Command, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ebenezer Tetteh, the Opel Astra private vehicle which the deceased was driving veered off its Lane onto the opposite direction and collided head-on with a Metro Mass Transit bus which was heading from Koforidua to Accra with passengers.
ASP Tetteh continued that the deceased both died on the spot and their bodies have been deposited at the Suhum government hospital awaiting autopsy.
He added that the accident vehicles have therefore been cleared off the road to prevent other accidents from occurring and the vehicles have also been towed to the police station for investigative purposes.
Meanwhile the driver of the The Metro Mass Transit, Mr. Seidu Clifford has been detained to assist police in further investigation into the matter.
