The Multimedia Group is still waiting on an official communication from the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) after one of its reporters, from Adom FM, was assaulted at the party’s headquarters.
This is despite the fact the perpetrator of the assault, Hajia Fati, offered a public apology for the incident.
Adom FM’s News Editor, Afia Pokua, said the company expected an official communique from the NPP on the matter of the apology.
Since the incident, she said her company hasn’t had “any verbal communication on this matter, and we haven’t had any official communication on this matter.”
“We wrote officially to the NPP and they haven’t given a response to our complaints, so we don’t know who this apology is directed to. We want to know. If it is directed to us then it is only fair that an official response comes from the party to us.”
The assault occurred after Hajia Fati forcefully prevented Sammy Crabbe, a suspended official of the party, from picking up forms to contest for the NPP’s chairmanship position.
The reporter, Ohemaa Sakyiwaa, said she tried to take a photo when she was slapped in the face by Hajia Fati.
